Kyoto is one of the best tourist destinations amongst Japanese cities. It had been a capital of Japan for more than one thousand years, therefore, Kyoto is rich in its cultural and historical heritage. Ginkaku (Silver Pavilion) was established in 1482 with breath taking garden, and Kinkaku (Gold Pavilion) was built in 1394 covered with gold-leaf on Japanese lacquer. Kiyomizu temple was founded in 798 and features a famous large wooden veranda supported by 139 pillars, each 49 feet high.
